The MPY-RS is a fast and highly sensitive detector for measurements of various radiation sources. This further improved version of the proven MPY-01 detector enables the direct measurement of signals up to 5 kHz thanks to optimized amplifier electronics. Therefore, for pulsed light sources no chopper is necessary up to this frequency. At the same time, the extremely high detectivity and the good noise characteristics are retained.
The optical bandwidth of the detector element is extremely wide, so that it can be used as a terahertz detector and infrared detector but also in the visible and UV range. The specific applicability is only limited by the choice of the optical window. Different windows with different transmission bandwidths are available.
The signal output via SMA socket is adapted for lock-in amplifiers as well as for data acquisition cards and oscilloscopes. An adapter from SMA to BNC is included.
The detector is equipped with a low-noise external power supply (included in delivery) which allows continuous measurements as compared with the battery operation of the MPY-01.
The compact design allows a space-saving installation in optical setups - all operating elements are easily accessible from above.
The sensitive detector element is protected by a screw-on cap. Here, the use of an SM05 thread ensures compatibility with conventional optical components (e.g. filters) from Thorlabs.
